Our Mighty Mitochondria

Have you seen the TV commercial of the “Energizer Bunny”? The bunny is buzzing all over the place beating its drum because it is full of energy. The reason is its battery is strong and efficient.

Our mitochondria are like the batteries of the “Energizer Bunny”, and they provide energy for our cells. If the mitochondria in a cell weaken or become damaged, the cell will not have enough energy to continue its job in the body. Picture the “Energizer Bunny” running out of steam and stopping dead in its tracks. As you can imagine, this leads to all kinds of problems.
